SS dagger

Hallo all,
I am wondering a long time about a certain item in my collection, fake or not.
The item was gift from someone in my village, he said it was in his family since the war and it belonged to a family member. Which was in the SS during the war and was killed. All that remains is this dagger and a messkit, both in my possession.
The dagger comes from J.A. Henckels in Solingen.

Hi Mick
I have the same SS dagger. Can you tell me how far from the crossguard is the motto ended on your transitional Henkles please ?
As far as I know they all seem to be 30MM on that transitional style trademark.

it looks ok to me i have the same dagger but mine is dated 39 my crossguards are internally marked PA and my tang still has the billetclamp marks on it which i was told is the norm for these daggers!!!!!! Also i have just measured crossguard to motto and mine is 29mm
