    Late period DLV qustion

Has anybody ever seen the swastika on a late period aluminum dagger ever completely loose all of its paint done to the base metal under it. I understand that in the late models it was just painted on so I guess a lot of poishing could rub it off. Would this be a red flag to anyone if the paint was not present. Thanks all

Are you referring to a late aluminium NSFK flyer's knife? These were made by Helbig... If it is, I have not seen the Swaz only painted onto the crossguard, it is moulded into the die and filled with either black or sometimes gold paint/enamel. The early nickel knives had a separate roundel with a black enameled Swaz pressed into the crossguard.

    Pics will help... Red

Thanks for the responce. Yes it is a NSFK late period. I have posted some good pics on German Daggers.com. I cannt seem to pull them down right now to post here. People on that site seem to think it is fine. Any discussion on the subject would help a lot.
