Just wanted to add my newest find to this thread!

Nice maker's mark.

Horn handle.

Still retains almost all of the cross graining.

I also wanted to show my latest repair. This is what I started with.

"181 R" - 181 Infanterie Regiment - Kgl. Sächs. 15. Infanterie-Regiment Nr.181

"B.A. XIX" is the marking for the Clothing Depot (Betriebs Abtelung) of the XIX Armee Corps.

181 Infanterie Regiment was part of the 40th Division (4. Königlich Sächsische) which in turn was part of the XIX Armee Corps.

The Regiment spent all of WW1 on the Western Front.
