It is 100% clear that the knife has been pried apart and very crudely been reassembled. With the damage done it may be beyond correct repair. The good news may be that I think the knife is a fake/reproduction so it does not really matter. It looks to me to have copper pins in the grip plates which is a clear indicator of a Polish fake. With missing release lever and heavily ground blade there is not much to salvage even for an original.
