That Eickhorn is a killer FKM Loggy -Congrats !

My favorite is this SMF. Very late in the game but strangely stainless, which is marked with the international code INOX, and has the dagger shaped blade associated with the October 1943 test examples.

An interesting chapter in this book about this rare variant called: Type 2b.

The author has one in his collection. He decided to put it on the cover of his book. I'm sure you guys all have this excellent reference.

1st , thanks to loggy & wags for posting you items !!! super nice to see.
have a question for each man; loggy, looks like the eickhorn mark is etched ?? correct ?
wags, I have not see one of these in a long while ; dose the knife as a whole, seem heavier , more heafty constructed ????
                    thanks j.h.

I admire your knife, it seems it's the only one here so far.
I'll send you a PM considering this knife.

Thank You gentlemen for your kind words.

Jh-ss44, I have not done a comparative study on this one yet. But I guess is this Type2b, knife is slightly heavier than a standard type2. The body seems identical however the blade is a stronger design having the spine going down the center of the blade rather than the usual tapered down type. Also it seems that it has a longer more massive ricasso. Both these Items I believe add a slight bit of weight to the knife- but again - it's just a visual by me.

Although a very late production knife, one really can't tell it by the use of Stainless steel, Full SMF logo, great bluing, and the fit inside is as prime as the finest pre-war examples. There is no 'slop' as is many late war examples.
                          So it's really a - freak-. Perhaps it's because it was a 'test-example'?
All number matching except for the usual lever. No markings on the Marlin spike.
