A man brought this into our local gunshow today. The blade is very badly corroded and I do mean badly! length is approx. 10 inches I thought it was kind of cool so I gave him $20 for it. I started wiping off the leather sheath with some cleaner and found a name and date on the back, scratched into it.
CAPT. E.S. LUCIER 1942 and what might be a service # under the name
It has a maker name on the grip "GREGORY STEL PRODUCTS MADE IN AUSTRALIA"
The blade is marked "GREGSTEEL"
Any body know anything about these knives like when they were made? For whom were they made? How many were made?
thanks for the help frank v.
