                    That's not the blade etch one typically sees with the Wasserschutzpolizei dagger. I'm used to seeing the standard fouled anchor etch without the blued panels.

                    Is the grip eagle attached with pins?

                      Sorry to report, but this is a well known fake of the postwar period. Note how the pommel appears too small for the top of the grip, the monumnet type blade etch is postwar and the grip emblem is also bad. The blade TM is also not of the period on a navy,

                          Agree with Ron on this one. I well remember when this blade etch hit the market in the late 1960's.
                          First time I've seen it on a Water Protection Police dagger.

                            I agree with Denny, I've seen this blade before & they've all been postwar but I've never seen one on a WPP dagger. These daggers are a minefield even under the best of circumstances, I would steer clear of this one.
