    beat up bayonet help

    i have this bayonet and i think possibly german by the top shape of handel. i notice that the blood grove is the other way in that its not a grove into the blade.

    i attach some pics.

    the bayonet has been messed about with by someone trying to clean all the rust off with what looks like a grinder

    it was free so what the hell

            many thanks indeed, i just assumed german by the resemberlance to the eagle head at the hilt...
