                Hi,

That's a very nice dagger. I thought it was typical that a Röhm dagger had a light brown colored grip just like yours.

                Regard, Theo

                  hi Theo,

thanks ! The condition of the blade is excellent / almost like new , so I myself have doubts on it . What do you think about the signature "In herzlicher Freundschaft Ernst Röhm " ?

IMO, It looks like an authentic Rohm dedication by a known but smaller Rohm maker - Haco. I like it!

But you way want to get other to comment. But I think you got a Gem.

                    Regards,
                    -wagner-

Looks good. Theo, I think the lighter handles are just typical of Pack daggers, not Rohms in particular.

                            Rohm

I'd like to see a full photo of reverse of blade. There was an exact placement regulation for Rohm dedication; which required a Reduced Size Trademark; which was placed apx. within 1/8 inch of the crossguard (so the inscription could be properly centered). This dagger has full size trademark; so I'd say the dedication was added post-War. p.s: There were dealers, in England, doing this in the early 1960's (same ones who were putting etchings on K-98 combat bayonets).

This has always been somewhat of a point of confusion with me. Did all Rhom dagger makers reposition their makers mark to accomodate the inscription? Looking through some of my reference books I see a lot of makers who apppear to have left their maker's mark in the normal location, such as Klaas, Hammesfahr, Herder and double oval Eickhorn?
