    Unknown sword-knot / 'Portepee'.....LW Officers' sword?

    Dear all,

I have acquired this one with some other stuff and have no doubts whatsoever on its originality....but what is it for? It is beautifully made and quite long...therefore I deem it for a sword and not for a dagger (I might be wrong though). It could be a sword-knot ('Portepee') that was intended for the LW Officers' sword...but this is just a guess.....who can help out?

    Thanks in advance!

    best regards,

    Coco

Yes, an Austrian sword knot instead of German.

          The sword knot...

          Dear all,

Thanks for this information! It is an Austrian sword knot then...are these rare or common i.e. how should I judge this value-wise? I do not collect swords so it has to go anyhow....

          Thanks in advance!

          Best regards,
