I really don´t think, that this knife, (or knives like this), could have been used for a dogfight ...

Soldier´s, (back to the American Civil-war), used private purchased folding knives and they do so today.
But to wound or kill an enemy they used, (and use till today), other "tools" !

Your knife IMO is a private purchased knife and shows the so called "á Virole"-locking-system.
