Etched SS Bayonet

They made truckloads of these in the UK during the 70s. I think I have seen almost every SS unit. I bought a 28 Division Wallonien one once in Belgium many years ago and was on cloud nine until I talked to a more experienced collector and found out they were junk. Sorry,

I agree with all of you on the originality of this piece. These were produced in England during the late 60's, early 70's. I bought two of them in 1975 from a military store in London for $20.00 ea.. The owner told me he could get me any etching I wanted. I later sold them both at a military show in the 80's for five times what I paid for them even though I toid the buyer they were fakes. The bottom line on these bayonets is that dispite the fact that they are fakes they were very well done with great scenes and presentations on the blades and hilts. From that standpoint alone they are collectors pieces in their own rights. I think the price paid for the eBay piece was quite high but in the $100-150 range they would be worth buying just for the workmanship involved in producing them.

Here is very much same looking bayonet in local netauction here in Finland.This one is Der Fuhrer labeled one.Seller even tells that it wont fit into K98 rifle as he tried to.Looks very much same series to me.

I’ve seen a lot of fake SS bayonets. But don’t remember offhand ever seeing the “”Very Special” engine turned, gold plated, bayonet catch release button Modell. With the screw-less “Fancy Grade” epoxied wooden grip plates as an added bonus.

What never ceases to amaze me is that there are willing customers for this junk.

Sad thing is,quite few people really think this bayonet is somekind of ultrarare SS-piece.It was offered close to 300euros for it last round,but seller needed more and auctioned it again...

Weird thing is that useally this seller have very nice wartime items but i guess he have paid big amount of this piece himself and needs his money back...

Its a shame about nice bayonet damaged in this way, interestingly the panel etch on pommel was done by new PC fonts, so is very clear how old is this piece. best regards,Andy

How is this "etching" done to this bayonet i posted? I mean it even looks very much different than other ww2 era etched daggers/bayonets.Could it be done in somekind of laser technic?

Does anyone know what bayonet is used here as a base for this "rare ss-piece"? Seller said that it wont fit into ww2 era K98 rifle.Also notice the WaA markings on it.
