My guess would be WKC. Appears to have an ivory grip. What's not to like?

At first...nice piece Joerg,

Please post some pics of the top/bottom of the grip so we can see some bits
of the inside.

Hard to tell from the photo, but most ivory grips did not have the high neck as shown in your picture. They also don't have much of an exagerated center diameter. The center diameter is only slightly larger than the ends. Under magnification you can usually see the graining of the organic material. Hope this gives you some clues.

Baesd on this photo, that does not appear to be an ivory grip. I do really like seeing all the dust and age under the pommel and around the grip wire, though.

Joerg, it looks like you have a very nice, original and - best of all - uncleaned example of the 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Officers' dagger. The knot and hangers really set the piece off. Enjoy it, show it to your friends, just don't clean it!

I think I will not try to find out more about the grip, because for this I would have to open the knot and I think I would not be able to complete it again right. Maybe I am, but I will not take this risk.
