Army dagger help please!

Hi all,

This dagger belongs to a friend of mine, but I know nothing about daggers.
Could someone please tell me if there is anything special about this army dagger and approx. what it is worth today? It was brought back by my friend's uncle and I would like to be able to tell him what the top value of this dagger would be, (as close as possible by these pics), as we are just curious, and also would like to know what the markings mean.
It is absolutely not for sale.

Hey Chris,
All the parts look corect for a later production MWM Waffen Army dagger in my opinion. From the pics it looks to be in average-good condition. That MWM trademark is a fairly hard one to find, an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. I would expect to see a dealer ask around $550 to $650. the bigger dealers, maybe more.

It looks to have been cleaned - extensively and recently. That should have some impact on the value. Overall, still a nice dagger, but I'd value it in the $500.00 range.
