    Bayo Question

    Picked this set up the other day. Can you tell me what kind of bayo this is?

        The bayonet appears to be a plated dress version of the German 71/84 made by Weyesberg and Kirschbaum. The military versions were made from about 1886 to the early 1890's and some were still being used during WW1. The plated versions were probably still being worn up into the Weimar era. IMHO they are one of the nicer looking bayonets.

          Yes, a nice example of the S71/84 private purchase plated bayonet. It would be appropriate for wear by a Stahlhelm veteran so could properly match the veterans association belt.
