Use the search function of the website. There is quite a bit in this section on the topic. It's been covered quite a few times and the information is about as representative as it's gonna get. Other collectors have covered the moving diamond, rivets, scabbards, etc.

Yep that too, we have tons of things regarding HJ knives here too! And very informative and detailed threads.

I would estimate that HJ repro recognition is covered more than any other dagger reference on this particular forum. GDC also has some excellent HJ recognition threads as well.

Hi John - As stated, a number of us have posted over the years on what to look for on an HJ knife, do a search. The link to Paul's site is very helpful too.

There are some things some people like to see in forum searches (in my case you will see RZM or Pre-RZM scabbards that are correct for the knife) to have a correct HJ. Other's like the jiggle of the insert, the grip checkering, the color of the insert, the size of the insert, the shape of the blade. There is a lot to know for such a small knife.

Top Three to get you past 75% of the fakes:

            No lip on scabbard throat
No seam on back of quillion (pointy part below grip)
No RZM on front of blade

The rest is study, study, study.

If it has the word "Germany" imprinted anywhere on it - stay away from it.

That's right. You only want one printed with "Spain" on it. Would be made for the condor legion youth, especially if it's an FW Holler.
