Looking at a RAD hewer dagger what to look for?

Im going to look at an Eickhorn RAD hewer dagger tommorrow. What should I look for to tell a real piece from a fake? Is there anything else I should look at before deciding on buying. Any help is appreciated.

Look for plate lifting on the hilt. This IMO can affect the price in a big way.

Well looks like it tommorrow already! It look like your were or are going to look at a EM hewer? Tom's reply was I will guess for a leader? but anywho. for fakes look at the scabbard fittings for the lack of detail. the lines will not be as crisp as period ones, no RZM marks ever, crossguard ditto lack of crispness in the lines. Thats just a few let us know how it did look if possible. Bret Van Sant

Bret, I ended up buying it for $500. It looks decent. Has a bit of rust on the scabbard and a little wear on the nickel on the scabbard. Here are pictures (sorry for the bad photography )

You will need to be a paying member to post in the wanted or for sale section.
