    Named 1st model Luft dagger

    Hello forum...

Here are some photos of a dagger I am looking at purchasing.

It appears to be in good shape... and is named to: "Heinrich Doenitz"

    Any info on this guy?

The photos are of the dagger the seller sent me ( in a display case).

It's a little pricey... but.. I thought it would be neat to get.

    thanks... Robert

I found info on a Heinrich Doenitz on the volksbund website. Possible the same person.

                  Thanks for the awesome info.

I know very little German... does this mean he was killed?:

                  Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 15.05.1941

I got the dagger... and will post more photos shortly.

The knot is poor... but, the Eickhorn blade is near pristine mint.

For those that care... it cost me $800 bucks

A named piece. Very cool. I've always felt that named pieces seem a bit more tangible....attaching a person to an artifact. Certainly makes it that much more personal.

                        Congrats.

                            Thanks guys....

                            I will post photos tomorrow.

I "stopped" collecting daggers about three years ago... and sold/traded everything away to focus on helmets.

Here's a photo from August 2005 when I took my collection down from the walls during a move.
