Saw it first hand, it is a sweet dagger.

              What a superb early hanger.

It was really cool to have seen that dagger in person. The worksmanship and details were amazing! Are the acorns boars teeth?

One hell of a find Eric!!

According to Tom Wittmann the acorns are indeed polsihed boars teeth. both Toms wanted to buy this dagger but I just could not let it go. The quality is the best.

That's a beautiful piece, and certainly of much better quality than is usually seen. And to find it with the belt and hanger is tremendous!

Thanks for the kind words. When I walked into a local Cincy show this dagger caused a small panic among the dealers! Raidos were going off, people were swarming me, remined me of a episode of COPS. Both Toms really like it and offered to buy it, but they were disipointed when I told them its been spoken for.

IMO and other known hunting dagger experts the hangers are utltra rare and the fact they are still with the original rig is even rarer. The green finish adds to the rarity as most were black or brown. MIO this was owned by a Elitest or a high ranking foresty leader. Thus the green finish.
