This is neat enough to maybe keep as it is. I could redo the wood as I have been repairing and refinishing rifle stocks for many years and well know for it but honestly think it should stay as is. Shame the cross guards are marked properly and I can bet I would have a hard time finding a match.
Any thoughts on this one for rarity or value? Also notice the leather scabbard has the same initials on the handle ? I figured the person who modified it did that also. I am going to try and get more info on it from the person I got it from as they said it was there granddads. Rick

That is not all that uncommon. The vet more than likly modified it and made it his combat knife, i have seen it done to swords and other stuff. It kills us today but back then it was the thing to do i guess. Nice SA though. Matt
