HJ Dagger - Original?

I just bought a pile of odds and ends from a woman today whose estranged husband collected military items for a brief period in the 60's and 70's. Some of the stuff is good and other items are not. Among the group was this HJ knife that was made by J.A. Henckels. I don't know much about daggers, but the quality of this knife seems is outstanding. I would like to know if it is original and how much I can realistically expect to get for it. Note that it does not have a scabbard. Thanks in advance.

Barry nice origional early henk with motto ....without a scabbard its worth around $300 i would say.....cheers scott.

Nice, what ashame about the big splodge of rust would have been outstanding, its odd how its in so good condition without having a scabbard to protect the blade

mike maybe its been in a display case with some other hj stuff & the scabbard has been misplaced at some point.....i bought a hj knife a while back that was displayed without the scabbard & the scabbard was lost to time.....just a thought.....scott.

I just rooted through the box of loot more and found the scabbard. Unfortunatley, someone removed the paint and leather hanger.

Its a beautiful knife. I wouldnt worry about the rust, it adds beauty to it, IMO.
