    Troddel question

Were they only the pervue of NCO's and above, or could the lower ranking enlisted men wear them. If so, under what circumstances?

Almost all enlisted men could wear the colored Troddel. The standard colored cloth Troddel indicated the unit down to company level. NCOs wore a green and aluminum wire Troddel that was specific to their rank and that Troddel could not be worn by other ranks.

Since I posted originally, I found a good chart that shows what color combination goes with which company.

What order(s) of dress was it authorized for?

      Thanks,

The Troddel was authorized for parade and walking out dress. You will also see it worn in field exercises and combat photos in the early days.
