    NSKK dagger help

I like this NSKK dagger but I am a bit worried about the gap between the crossguard and the top of the blade. Surely this cant be good?

It's hard to tell with those photographs. Not all SA's have a perfect fit and some have gaps that are original. The shoulder of the blade in the photo appears to conform with the curve of the crossguard, so this may be original. Contrary to popular belief the German craftsmen were not perfect. Look at Eickhorn for example. Their SS and SA daggers have a higher percentage of bad fits, probably because they made large amounts of them.

Not only is that dagger expensive for it's condition, the blade fit IMO is unacceptable.
Every "August Bickel" I have examined had very snug blade to crossguard fit. This one shows "all air"....

I don't like it at all.
Bickel made their own grips which are different from other SA dagger manufacturers. Bickels grips were slimmer, with higher ridges, shaprer angles and were factory lacquered.
The grip on the dagger shown has NONE of these features.
          Parts dagger IMO.

Whoa... didn't see the second photo of the blade fit. There is a possibility that this gap is caused by the pommel nut not being screwed in. If it is screwed in finger tight, then I agree with Wags.

OK thanks guys. I wont be buying it, but I really like the dark handle on that dagger. Never seen one like it before.
