Property marked 1st Luftwaffe dagger ??

Recently pick up a 1st model Luftwaffe dagger with what I believe to be property markings. The blade and upper scabbard fitting both have neatly and almost identical script the letters , R. Sch.

I believe the R is for Regiment.

Could the Sch. be an abbreviation for Schutzen which I believe can be interpreted as Guard.
So with that thought if correct would this dagger be regiment property for use by the Regiment Guard .

Lettering was done a while back ,blends right in on the scabbard nicely.
Dagger is an Alcoso mid production piece with plated steel scabbard fittings, aluminum chain hanger. Buffer pad is blue felt not leather. Fairly decent condition but the leather could use a cleaning.

Does anyone have a better idea on this one or know what the letters stand for.

Nice dagger. I have one too with letters on both scabbard and crossguard, though mine are stamped.
I posted mine but no one seemed interested either.

Maybe its the name of the officer?

        1st luft

        Hi LDR,
My first guess was a person name also, but the Sch is so common for a prefix of a German name I thought I could rule that out.
I know the Germans are frugal but I think even the most frugal would not go to that extreme to save a pfennig or two to just do a partial name.....BUT then you never know.

I was going with the idea that the R is very common for use as regiment, I was hoping someone with a working knowledge of the German language would know if there is a use for Sch.
It's a keeper even if I don't learn more, I did not have a 1st Luftwaffe with plated steel scabbard fitting in my collection yet so this will fit in nicely with the others.
Thank you for your ideas about the letters.

Nice dagger. You may try the GDC; it has a section for German/English translations that may work for you.
