Looks as a typical Dachau SS NCO Degen. The whoole fittings has the typical chrome like finish.I don't know about the big rust on the pommel cap,can be denazifed and later added,i don't know. The degen looks real to me.

        Thanks for the awesome info.

I assumed if the cap is a reproduction... the rest of the sword is probably repro. too.

        Wow... this might be real?

        That would be great. Robert

Other than the pommel cap it looks fine to me, but I'm not a real expert. The cap also looks genuine but its condition is so much worse than the rest of the sword I'd assume a post-war marriage.

              Thansk for the help...

Any idea what it might be worth if the cap is a replacement/reproduction?

Hi Rob, sword looks fine to me and I agree looks to be a later Dachau produced sword. I think the pomel cap is real also but a replacement. In the condition I would value this somewhere between $1800-$2500. Just my opinion though because I do think the pomel cap hurts it somewhat especially since it does not match condition wise the rest of the sword. Hope this helps...Jeff

                  Wow...

                  that much...?

I will likely take it with me to the Pomona military show in May.

My friend has a couple tables... which helps me get in early
