Check out the fix on this rare dagger. Looks like a bayo blade was used. Fits perfectly!

Appears the dagger was perhaps bent in a raid?

Just curious why you think this was period fixed. It is interesting.

A couple things I noticed is the grip to pommel fit is off. Also the RLB insignia is early, but cap looks like pot metal and not nickel silver. It is missing the hanger too, are you certain this is not a parts piece?

When the pommel nut is screwed down to exactly the right spot, it fits exactly perfectly. But, wood shrinkage etc. makes it slightly off target when screwed down.
