    K98 Bayonet by Spreewerk (?)

Here is a bayonet I picked up some time ago. The bayonet and scabbard are mismatched but it was brought back this way by a vet. The blade of the bayonet has the year "41" stamped on the spine, but no manufacturer marking. The serial number (2191) is in the expected place, and the pommel is stamped with WaA88 which I believe is the Spreewerk factory in Czechoslovakia, famous for P38 production. Spreewerk did not start making pistols until 1942, am I correct in thinking that this bayonet was made at that factory before they started making pistols there? Is it normal to find a bayonet by this maker with no manufacturer stamp on the blade? I would appreciate any opinions.

Here are the WaA88 stamps on the pommel. The scabbard has a 1937 date, the frog is wartime. I would be grateful for any comments.

There is WaA883 as typical for Solingen area, not WaA88, is known that 41crs is sometime stamped without the crs code, so i believe Your bayonet was made in 1941 by Paul Weyersberg in Solingen. Could You provide more info about the scabbard, maker, and serial number with letter. thanks ,Andy

Thanks very much for the information. As I mentioned, the bayonet and scabbard do not match. The bayonet is numbered 2191 with no letter. The scabbard is marked 8927 f and made by E Pack & S. 1937.
