Hi Guys; seems I need your help. I purchased this Naval blade today from a respected Dagger dealer. Need I say more. This Naval Blade has the E-Pack logo Blacksmith. This is not listed in Whittmans book, he references the large logo with the Blacksmith under a horsehoe. The etching is not the same as shown in Tom's book either. I need to know if this is a varient or does anyone have or can shead some light on this subject. The listing was for a mint unissued wartime production blade. Please WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS. Thanks so much.

Hi Rick
I'd be very cautious with this one... It appears to have an "Imperial" type etch with the crown, which seems more like the 1938 style to the etch. Also, the etched Political style trademark is a concern, can't say I've seen that before on a TR period Naval blade. I would also expect to see the logo stamped on a blade of that vintage.
There were a lot of etched blades, Luft, Army and Navy made up in the 70s-80s with a variety of trademarks. I have a repro army etched blade with the same style etched Political EP&S logo which I know to be fake... Pack seemed to use this style logo on their SA & SS blades.
Lets hear from some more folks, but its a thumbs down for me...
