    Kriegsmarine Honor Dagger

I am interested in finding out the value of a Kriegsmaring Honor Dagger. The dagger is in near mint condition and has Adm Doenitz signature on the blade and diamonds in the handle/swatsticker. This dagger was purchased from a vet 30 or more years ago. Were these daggers reproduced and, if so, how would you know? The workmanship has the feel of an original. Thanks for any help you can give me.

We would be able to help but we need some good photos of the item to do so.

These daggers have been reproduced since the early 1960's or even earlier.
They originally came with a presentation case. On the blade they would have the name of the recipient and usually a date. Can you give us that info?

One must first establish authenticity followed by condition and rarity. Best always with photos. However some fakes are real good and would require a "hands-on" inspection by an expert.

Like Wags said, there have been reproductions around for well over 30 years so tread lightly.
