        As said, its a post war marker.
        And, notice that the scabbard has a "lip" there, also an instant give-away.
        There were no period scabbards with that lip.

            The lip on the scabbard is the first thing that someone would notice without even removing the knife from it.

              1/ Scabbard Lip
              2/ Parallel Diamonds in bakerlite to main Diamond
              3/ Maker is already know to be post war, (if its pre 45 it should have rzm markings as its in the style of late war)
              4/ Experience, just the overall look of the knife, blocky shape to the hilt, grips and rivets look wrong

              its daunting to begin but these are fairly easy to get you head around after some practice! good luck!
