    2nd Pattern KM Dagger

    Hello LH 600,

Well, from that single picture I would venture to say it's an authentic 2nd Pattern KM dagger. That portepee appears to have been in place many years. The scabbard is the lightning bolt type I would expect to see as well. Without more detailed pictures I am not able to offer anything more but if, as you say, it's been in Norway since the end of WWII then you know it's authentic. Have you photographs of the Eickhorn mark and the etch available?

    Regards,
    Stu

The old toned portepee speaks for itself, nice. The dagger looks also nice. Only a bit sad that the original firegilted finish is completely cleaned of the dagger scabbard. You see some traces just above and below the scabbard bands. All the other surface is the brass based metal of which the scabbard is made of.

Many thanks Theo for fine words.
I will post some more pics later with the total differense between KREBS dagger & this one you see here.

The crossguard is bigger on the KREBS and the grip is thinner. Its lot of other small things too. I will take close image macro for show.
