Thank you guys for all your nice replies.
As I already said I don't know anything about daggers but I was sure that these were original.
I think I did well with buying these daggers and not paying an arm and leg for them. In fact, considering they were quite cheap. There is still one to go but that is not an HJ dagger but a 1st pattern LW dagger (also without the scabbard ).
The other 2 (there were 5 in the lot) are a normal bayonet and a dress bayonet.

Thank you also for pointing me to DDsDagger.com. I will keep my eye on that site to find 2 scabbards for my HJ Daggers.

      hi pascal
lovely dagger ,just wondering where the owner would have stood if these grips are period(and they certainly look it)with regards to the uniform regulations of the time, as they where standardised by the date of this dagger would he still be allowed to use a piece that did not conform to the proper uniform code

        Interesting thought Stu.
Maybe he was standing so high, uniform code at that level wasn’t that important any more .

          Hi Pascal,

Great knife! I don't know how formal those dress codes were followed. I remember at least one picture of a HJ boy with an non-conforming knife on his belt.
