Interesting HJ Dagger

Here we have the second of the 2 HJ Daggers which I bought at a local antique auction.
Personally I find this one more interesting then the first one. The dagger is lacking the bakelite grip with the HJ diamond but instead has a solid wooden grip. This grip is truly outstanding, masterly crafted.

Is it common to see a HJ with these wooden grips?

As I said before I don’t know anything about daggers so I would like to hear your opinion on this dagger.

Knife looks authentic,but i mean the grip plates were added , period or post war , because the bakelite grip plates were broken or an other damage .

who can tell whether its period or post war but someone has presumably cut and finished by hand?? correct me with iam wrong!

It looks like alot of hard work went in to that grip... that hj wouldnt look out of place in my oliver twist collection

Did it come with a scabbard? id love to know what the damage was on a piece like that, please pm me if you dont wish to post online!

The daggers I purchased came without scabbards. So now I’m looking for some scabbards to go with these HJ daggers. Where do think I can find original HJ scabbards?

scabbards pop up reasonably regulary even on ebay sometimes they are had for little £25 / $50 and other times there priced at silly money

Pascal i think your hj with the hand made wooden grips is amazing & so different to see i bet its a one off . the only other hj knife i,ve seen with wooden grips is on DDsDaggers.com he has an Early Eickhorn with the grips made from wood & has its daimond insignia inserted into the grip........thanks for showing us your hj knife its very interesting.......cheers scott.
