About to meet vets daughter on what I believe to be a decent DJ knife with the emblem on the scabbard, blade has been sharpened but not overly abused and strap is broken at the snap with all parts present. Whats the rarity factor verses your typical non motto HJ dagger?

What's the story with the DJ knives? I remember they were the source of debate sometime ago. I stopped following the debate so consequently, don't kow what the concensus was. Didn't someone X-ray one?

I had to edit this 'cause I just recalled those Olympic youth knives as well. Do you guys also remember those? Didn't they have white grips? I don't recall what the concensus on those was either. I thought alot of members thought they were not period because there was no photographic evidence to suggest they existed. Whatever. Sorry, didn't mean to digress.

Well, certainly the DJ knives are far more rarer than the HJs, and especially with the ones you mention, late knives (without motto).
If we have to make a rarity among the 3 main production periods of the HJs, i would say that early period ones are the rarest, followed by the transitional and then by the late period ones. (leaving apart unique/variation examples)
DJs are much more rarer than early period HJs. I really cant give a scale of rarity HJ vs DJ, but have in mind that DJs are far more rarer than HJs.
