it could be a rare blade voos without maker and motto just been matched with some parts that combination does exist.
MIKE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 100 TIMES BETTER IF THEY HAD USED PERIOD PARTS WITH THIS RARE RZM MARKED VOOS BLADE WITH MOTTO AT THE END OF THE DAY ALL THAT IS GENUINE IS THE BLADE ,DAIMOND, THE SCABBARD MAY BE POSTWAR AS WELL COS IT LOOKS TOO MINTY IMHO I.E LEATHER HANGER.......HOPE YOU GET THINGS SORTED OUT WITH THE DEALER THAT SOLD YOU THIS DODGEY HJ........BEST SWEEZZ.

Sorry to see that Mike - We all wind up with clunkers if we collect long enough.

The plates have definately been replaced at some point. Not so sure that the steel hilt is a replacement. The seams on repros often go around the upper fingerguard, and up between the plates. Could this just be a poorly finished original example? The blade and maker mark look fine to me. If the entire hilt is a replacement, there must have been some serious damage, leaving the blade perfectly intact.

it feels and sounds different when u ping it lol if you saw it might trigger that gut reaction

theres no wear to it at all and the seems to be another seam or straight line on the other side, ill have a look through my other knives but i cant say ive noticed them before

If it's got more seams, and it's lighter than normal, then I agree. I've also just noticed some casting flaws in the hilt as well. Sweezz, have you got a pic of a complete one with the lighter alloy hilt?

                    Regards

well its non magnetic hilt, just looked through my others and not found any similar marks.

ill put some pics up tomorrow of the area i mean about the other seam its only very small, but that got me thinking this should still be an early example that should still be leaving the factory as a quality item, if it was a late war example it would forgive more sloppyness in the finishing

Will be good to see the other pics. Zinc hilts were around in 1938, and also from this maker.
