    Mystery Bayonet

    Hi guys,

A colleague of mine asked me to find out about this bayonet. I have searched through many websites and haven't found anything quite like it. I believe it to be German. The serial number on it is 92211 and the only other marking is on the blade. Many thanks, David Baker.

    Hello there,

I´m pretty sure it´s of Austrian manufature as OEWG is the logo of steyr.
I can´t come up with the precise model but I think it is for the m95 mannlicher.

Hope this is of some help.
    All the best, Eric

Yes, this is the Austrian NCO version of the Steyr bayonet. Not German issue.

Thank you very much. I don't suppose in that condition it is worth anything much at all. Any Idea on the price for a decent condition one?
        Thanks again, David Baker.

Its austrian M1888 NCO bayonet, as there is no sign of austrian empire eagle on ricasso, it could be a export piece, where is the number stamped? any stamps on pommel or corssguard? best regards,Andy
