    Hi Andy and Guys,
Here are some more pics of my bayonet and scabbard as requested. I am very happy you like it and am enjoying learning all you say.

    Regards,
    Brad.

    Enjoy.

Hello Brad, is very nice S/175, 36,- 1936 F.W.Holler,Solingen piece, with Coppel scabbard, the finish on pommel has gone, the rust on scabbard frog stud, should be oiled and gently cleaned, but not heavily. best regards,Andy
The bayonet is in bard in wrong position, the numbers should be on same side bayonet and scabbard, or the mouth scabbard screw should be on side of the thick bayonet spine not the edge.
        Both are proofed with WaA253.

Thanks Guys, bayonet is now seated in scabbard correctly and has always been lightly oiled after I have handled it since I've owned it.

Now, this light cleaning you mention for the rust on the frog stud, are we talking sanding or steel wool or finger nail? I think I would rather leave it alone rather than remove any bluing or scratch it.

          Brad

maybe it could be cleaned with gunoil and steel wool 00, or brass pin,but better not, when You mean You will scratch the surface. To Philip, the older BCN site was not updated, so the info is old and not correct. best regards,Andy

Hi Jeremy, sorry for my english, this is certainly a SG84/98 bayonet, but i did only mention the maker code S/175, as this was clear for me from previous mails. best regards,Andy
