    Hitlers ww1 bayonet

IM posting this here in the hopes of some better answers.
    -------------------------------------------------------
ok frieind of mine picked up a ww1 bayonet and this document came with it .

thoughts, opinions, I know a pinch of salt, but an interesting claim to make

a rough translation is "This side arm was from the Leader and Kingdom Chancelor Adolf Hitler worn from September 20, 1917. On 4 April 1919, the Leader stood with his side arm pulled (not sure of the rest of the sentence). At his side is his comrade Ernst Schmidt. "

Ernst Schmidt did indeed exisit and was a runner with AH...

          Tony:
Posted item wax eagle seal stamp looks totally bogus to me!
Seems like the season for fake AH stuff, like the globe recently
in the news. I did see in a pre-WW2 issue of "LIFE" magazine
Hitler's WW1 dog tag, and more recently in the San Diego "WW2
Thru Russian Eyes" exhibit Hitler's toy soldiers from the Berlin
Bunker - odd that he held onto them until the very end! As for
myself the only Hitler relic I know is the "real thing" is the piece
from his house that I picked up myself at the site in 1991 before
the whole place was totally buried around 2000.

I would have to question the purpose of the document in the first instance. It seems to be put together with 'the collector' in mind. Why would the NSDAP want to make such a statement on a piece of paper?

The document is not dated, not addressed to anyone, there is no name of the signer, no Party stamp etc. Doesn't seem right for something on an 'official' NSDAP letterhead.

                      Regards
                      Russell

                        Hi,

IMO their is indeed some kind of pattern in the way the aged the enveloppe around the edges. In contrast nothing spoiled the areas with text?
