    1933 ss dagger

    hi everyone.
On the scale of one being the rarest and ten being the most common.
Where does the maker: GOTTLIEB HAMMESFAHR SOLINGEN FOCHE come please, as i have got a 1933 ss dagger with this maker on.
    regards,
    belinda

They're in the middle of the pack, but actually rarity and condition are on opposite ends of the spectrum for most collectors. A mint 33 being either an SS or SA, will always be worth more than a rare maker in so-so conditiion for most collectors. In my book condition drives the price over rairity.

Thanks JR for the infomation. I am learning all the time with help from chaps like you.
I would agree with you. My SS dagger is not in the best condition and would love to have one in a nicer condition regardless of who the maker is.
      Many thanks once again,
      Belinda

        Hi Belinda!
have you got any photos you could post of the dagger?
It's my most wanted item but still haven't got one yet, trying to find the best possible condition early dagger for the money i have to spend.

On the other hand, for a collector that is trying to get all the makers in say the SS dagger category, I'm sure that they would jump at a chance of one of the super-rare makers that there are only a couple of known examples of.

Belinda, you should definitley join, it's the best thing i did regarding collecting TR militaria & so cheap considering how it has helped me learn. I find you learn a lot more when you have something in your hand that people are discussing in a thread.
