Sword - Damask blade ????

Hello guys, a girl I was chatting to recently in California fascinated me totally and that before I became aware her father was a veteran during WW2 who brought back some incredible German Militaria, although I have not purchased it yet I was hoping for opinions. I have already posted the first edged weapon and this sword is the next item, opinions would be much appreciated. Edged weapons is not my area and I think perhaps it has what is refered to as a damascus blade but don't really know much about it.

In my opinion it's engraved, not Damascus.

Hello, thanks guys, like I say edged weapons are not my speciality but the information is much appreciated. Any ideas regarding value as I have to make an offer to the owner asp. (that is if it's worth buying)
