    Daggers & Displays

Many time dagger collectors like to add something complimentary to their display to set it off. Too much in the display, can sometimes overdo it and make it look too busy. Usually I'll just have one or 2 items perhaps in a cased display box with a dagger. With a beautiful SA dagger, it might be a Gold Party Badge. With a Luft dagger it might be an early qualification badge and an Officer's breast eagle. But the right item, it can really make the display simple but stunning.

For example, there is nothing that goes better with one of these.............

These early nickel SS buckles are a killer with an SS dagger display. If you need some help finding something, just give me a shout and I'll be glad to assist you. JR

Such a stunning SS dagger need no other embellishments IMO.
You are probably the lucky owner of one (or more?) SS-daggers in a quality no longer found on today's market.

I am primarily a Iron cross collector but I do have a small collection
of blades. I use the daggers to accent the crosses.

It was quite a sight to see JR at the MAX when he held those buckles out in both hands to show me! Good eye picking them up.

Outstanding photography, as always. I learn something every time you put on a "class" like this....

Also noticed an uncanny resemblance between an ALCOSO Hi-Lift crossguard and the "chesty" eagle on the SS Buckles you show.

When were these buckles 1st made? Approximately? I'm wondering if they could have served as a model for the Alcoso Army crossguard......

Real interesting observation DJ. I never thought about that but you're right. I believe that these came out about 1935 but I'll check on it for sure. As always, thank you and all for the kind words. JR

Hope I'm not changing the course here, but here is a picture of a couple of ALCOSO Hi-Lift xguards. Uncanny resemblance.... DJ

I agree - sometimes one can go overboard accessorizing their blades...

Can you spot the dagger here?
