I'm not an "authority" either, but the stamped blades are generally far safer than the etched ones; many which were produced after the war was over. I don't have any problems with this blade and trust that you enjoy it for years!
well the cross guard seams to be made of crome or nickle plating, and seams a different metal from the pommel, the old man I picked it up from said he got it at a flea market 25 years ago, but you know how stories go
