Sabre - opinions needed

Hello! what will be thoughts about this sabre? Has it a chance to be authentic?

100% authentic. Hand chizzled langet and pommel/backstrap work most likely. The grip is not in the best shape however, and finding a new grip is tough. They can however successfully be repaired with a little patience and some JB Weld.

Tahnk You for the input! What will be thoughts about the sheath? and for what branch of Whermacht it was designed?

It's an Army saber. Either for an officer or an NCO. Does the sword fit all the way (flush) into the scabbard? It almost looks like it does not fit perfectly which could be a sign that the two were not orignially together. Another photo of the sword fitting fluch into the scabbard would eliminate that possibility.
