    Army Sword

    Hi Guys;

    Putting this up for show and tell and comments.. Photo is lousy, I will take more..

    Eickhorn is Maker. I have it as a NCO Sword?? Not sure if that is correct.. I also have one

    with closed wings. What is the difference..???

    Excellent blade, Excellent Scabbard... Value on todays market????Ideas????

        Eickhorn Wrangel model 1693. Either officer or NCO. Difficult to tell without sword knot; even then, it would be difficult to tell.

        Looks good. I can't tell from the photos if the shine is ffrom the gold gilting or if the hilt is high pollished brass. Better photos would make it easier to judge.

          Additionally, regarding the open vs. closed wing eagle...not much. Owner preference. Open wing vs. closed wing has no relationship to wearers rank. Over 200 Army sword models were made during the TR, each catering to different tastes of both the maker and demand from purchasers.
