Opinion please!

A friend of mine asked for a opinion on this knife. I told him that it could be a original kampfmesser but Im not sure, I leave this for the experts on this forum.
There is no markings on it and it has ha homemade type of frog .

Looks like an original German trench knife but I´m not 100% sure if it is WW1 or WW2 but I lean towards the WW2 period. The frog looks homemade as you mention yourself
