    NSKK chained, FAKE???

    Hey guys,

I`ve just recently purchased this awesome NSKK chained dagger, only to find out today that its a COPY!!!!!!
I think this dagger is a original NSKK, but upgraded with a fake chain.
I would really appreciate some input here from you seasoned collectors, as I`m hoping to return it to its previous owner.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Dion

              Yes

It does indeed seem to be a fake chain. I am new to the hobby, but I see issues with the text NSKK etc. but primarily with the way the holes are made in the different sections of the chain. I am referring to Wittman's offering of NSKK daggers all of which show the difference. There's my opinion for you. I am sure others will be able to help better.

              Chained NSKKs for comparison:

                Hi Jan,

Yes, I believe these holes for the links should be a D shape, and not round. Further more, when looking closely at these holes, they`re not consistantly spaced! looks very much like they`ve been drilled by hand, and not cast when originally manufactured
                Thanks for the input.

                Cheers,
                Dion

I completely agree with the foregoing, looks like a postwar upgrade to an M36. Send it back immediately
