SS Sword - Not!

Hi Everyone,

This is for sale locally. Certainly doesn't look like a genuine piece - very poor quality - movie prop, parts, outright fake?

Has a bit of everything what with the swastika embellishment, red paint etc. Grip is some sort of composite material: definitely not ebony!

Any idea who might have put this together?

It appears that someone has taken a genuine police degen and attempted to "trick it out" as an SS Degen. The runes in the grip look like an SS uniform button and I think I can see where the police insignia was. The swastika and red hi-lights are interesting touches. I'd love to have it as a gag item if you're not interested.

Agreed. Genuine degen that was "tricked out". As stated, it appears to have been a police officer degen obviously by Krebs.

Please clarify your opinions. I believe the degen is a genuine saber. However, it has been modified into a piece of rubbish. Are you saying you think the saber was never a legitimate police degen?

It is definatly a period Police officers Degen thats been worked on, to increase the value?

To bad someone has doctored it up,, I love that trademark.
