    Lets See Some Army Sabers!!

Not a huge group of collectors of these beautiful pieces of artwork. Only a handful of folks focus on Heer sabels, I being one of them. The hand art and scroll-work that went into these is truly amazing. What do the rest of you have? Please, show 'em off. I drool over these truly elegant cats (well, and doves for that matter ).

Although I have a gammit of other collectibles, daggers, a handful of EK's, flags on so on, these are my true passion. Some very difficult to find Army sabers, but nothing truly "rare".

    Heres some of mine.

More. These 3 are oak-leaf langeted sabers. Some are pretty difficult to come aqcuire. Late Weimar, early TR periods. I love the handwork onvolved in these.

You'll notice a nice early Luft in the back. A flieger I couldn't pass up on at the time. Uniquely marked. Had to grab her.

I'm trying to complete my "field marshal" series. Piece by piece. I really like 'em.

Show 'em off guys. They are relatively safe to collect...relatively being the operative word. That gold color really sparkles like a gem....and consequently, the lion eyes really add to the "gem" look.

Ok, SS is my real focus but I've managed to hang onto a few armies, nothing too rare, a herder 1017, pack 'paratrooper' and an etched shooting prize sword -

Beautiful dispaly Swordfish!. Like Johnathan, I try to concentrate on SS, but drift occasionally. I only have one E.F. Horster Lionhead example I will photograph later.

                  John,
Excellent. I really like those flat-knuckle bows you've got there. Very nice pile of Armies. Definitely something to be proud of. Very nice sir! That Holler 61 has a funky looking acorn on it's knot. What's the story with that knot?

I honestly haven't the foggiest about the knot, it came with the sword when I bought it out of an old collection last year. Here's a shot of the blade -

Apparently the knot has some Saxon connection ?

Anyway, echoing Swordfish, it would be great to see other examples of army swords..anyone ?

amazing stock pile of sabers!! I only have one but do plan on getting more. They are kind of an odd specialty to collect but i will get into collecting them soon. They are my favorite edged weapon followed by the dress bayonets. Thanks for showing! Matt
