I was just in San Antonio and a friend of mine showed me this rather interesting piece. I'm not a dagger guy so I don't know if its an original item or postwar fantasy. It doesn't appear to be a dagger in the traditional sense ie to be worn. I think (if original) its some type of presentation piece made up by the factory. Its made of brass and the construction/quality is suberb. Anyway I would love to hear comments from the dagger collectors. Here are the pics. WR Jim

I cannot add anything to the authentication of the piece, but the scabbard body, excluding the upper throat and bottom fittings, look like the Hitler Youth leader's pattern.
It is not impossible that this is a piece made by a worker at Krupp, in his machine shop.
I cannot make out the top lettering on the scabbard dedication. Is it UHRER FABR?

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

The inscription is Fuhrer Fabrik . I certainly have no idea if its real or a postwar fabrication. Looks kinda neat though.Jim

I will have to do some research and find out if Krupp A.G. named one of the plants the "Fuhrer Factory".
Good, I haven't read THE ARMS OF KRUPP for several years. A good read!

Here's a link to the most recent GD thread on the Krupp daggers. As Bob said, there's no way of knowing definitively if these pieces were made pre 1945 although there are those that believe the pieces were manufactured by Krupp in the period. That said, it should be noted that the dagger in the link was listed on Manion's & the seller gave no guarantee of authenticity which I find somewhat telling & should be enough to give anyone pause.
