    diplomatic dagger in gold

I have a chance to obtain a diplomatic dagger in gold. Looking at the piece, it looks good, however, I am concerned about the feathers that are on the body of the eagle. In the past, I had a diplomatic dagger and traded it for some other items. As i recall, and as i see pictures, the body of the eagle was rather streamlined with no appear feather look. The blade is marked E&F Horster solingen. I know there have been some comments that indicate Alcoso as the sole manufacturer. Unable to post photos just now, but would appreciate any comments. I have known this fellow for some time, and he usually is pretty good with authetic stuff. Any more knowledge that i can obtain would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I would tread lightly on this one. Gold GO's are extremely rare and I'm not sure about the Horster maker mark. I believe the GO and Diplo daggers were only produced by Eickhorn and Alcoso

    My two cents',

I agree with skip. I would never touch a GO or a Diplo. with a Horster trade mark. Alcoso and Eichorn were the only producers of these daggers.

        Gold GOs

Eickhorn was the only recorded manufacturer of the Gold Government Official's Dagger. The gold finish is dull and was only on the GO and not a Diplomatic Dagger.
